DEVO. 08.19.25
“Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.” (Proverbs 21:21 NLT)
- What are you pursuing?
- To pursue something means that you are earnestly seeking it.
- Most of the time we pursue fame, position, popularity and money.
- But what if you actually get what you are chasing after?
- Think about it, you may pursue a position at work that provides great income but at the end of the day may not give you any peace.
- You may successfully get what you pursued but be unfulfilled.
- That’s an example of pursuing the wrong thing.
- God tells us to pursue righteousness and unfailing love.
- The results of pursuing righteousness is that you will find it and life, and honor
- Honor comes along with pursuing the right thing.
- Proverbs 15:9 says, “The Lord loves one who pursues righteousness [personal integrity, moral courage and honorable character].”
- The Lord loves it when you chase after righteousness because it produces a fulfilling life without the pain of bad choices and bad consequences.
- Matthew 5:6 says, ““Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.”
- When you pursue the right thing, you will be nourished by Gods goodness and completely satisfied both emotionally and spiritually.
- If you pursue the right thing today, it will result in right results and fulfillment!
- When you pursue the wrong thing, you will end up unfulfilled and empty!
- Today, take the advice of this proverb and pursue righteousness!
- You will not be disappointed!
- Have a great Tuesday!
