DEVO. 07.07.26
“Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call; This I know, that God is for me.”
(Psalms 56:9 AMP)
- David was confident of this one thing, “God is for me!”
- David writes this during a time that he fled from Israel and was seized by the Philistines.
- Things could not have looked worse for David.
- There was literally nowhere for him to turn except to cling to the Lord.
- In the middle of this, David says, “This I know, that God is for me.”
- How about you?
- Are you facing big problems?
- Are you in the middle of confusing circumstances?
- No matter how bad it looks, can you say, “This I know, that God is for me.”
- Your confession has power!
- Stop confessing how bad the problem is and start confessing how big your God is!
- Stop talking about how things will never change and start embracing Jesus who is the change maker!
- The One who heals the blind —and makes the deaf hear!
- The One who brings dead things to life!
- If you continue to talk about how difficult things have always been, then things will always be difficult.
- If you are always thinking and talking about brokenness, then you will not be able to accept His healing.
- David went on to say, “In God, whose word I praise, In the Lord, whose word I praise, In God have I put my trust and confident reliance; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalms 56:10-11)
- How did He know the Word of the Lord? Only by spending time with the Lord!
- The Word of the Lord was a greater reality than the words of his enemies!
- David’s whole mindset and attitude changes with His confession!
- He goes on to say, “For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.”
- ”You have rescued me” means that in his mind, God has already done it!
- The reality of God’s saving power became a greater reality than his current condition.
- Today, don’t speak about fear, speak about your God who is for you!
- Stop talking about all of the darkness and start talking about the Light!
- Have a great Tuesday!
