DEVO. 07.24.26

“Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!” (Luke‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- Isaiah the prophet, prophesied of the voice of John the Baptist, approximately 700 years before he was born.

- He said that his voice would shout. “prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!”

- That’s what John did with his voice.

- We are living in a time where we are watching and waiting for Jesus to return.

- Like John, we should be using our voice to prepare the way for Jesus.

- Just like John, we should be telling people to be baptized, “to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.” (Luke‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬)

- The signs are all around us.

- In 2 Timothy 3:2, the apostle Paul gives a list of signs, he says, “For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.”

- These are just a few of the signs of people’s attitude & behavior before he returns.

- We can either ignore the signs or we can prepare ourselves.

- If a road sign says that there is a turn ahead, then we should prepare and turn but if we choose not to pay attention to the street sign, we will end up in an accident and destruction.

- Our voice should be saying, “Prepare yourself, Jesus is coming!”

- But How do you prepare?

- You repent! Turn from your way of living for self and repent of all sin.

- Turn away from sin and turn to Jesus!

- 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

- ‭‭He will cleanse you but it is your job to stay clean. You do that by listening to and following the Holy Spirit!

- Don’t put it off!

- Today is the day of Salvation.

- Then let your voice become like the voice of John the Baptist and tell everyone to be prepared!

- Prepare the way!

- “These king is coming!

- Let your voice be used by God and for God!
