DEVO. 04.27.26
“Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.” (Mark 1:35 NLT)
- What did Jesus do at the peak of His ministry and popularity?
- He got up early, before everyone else, went to an unseen place in order to be seen by His Father!
- The verses just prior to this, verse 33 & 34 say, “The whole town gathered at the door to watch. So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and He cast out many demons.
- The whole town was there to see Him!
- He didn’t need a billboard or a special invite card urging people to come to His healing event!
- He simply did what He was called to do and ministered to the needs of the people around Him.
- No sickness or disease stopped Him.
- If you were sick, then He was your healer!
- If you had demons then Jesus would cast them out!
- If you had to be carried to Him, then He would restore you so that you could walk out!
- And instead of preparing the next event or working on the next program, He got up early and prayed!
- Why? Because His identity, authority and direction came from His Father in Heaven!
- His Father is the one who said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.””(Matthew 3:17)
- Jesus said, in John 5:19 “The Son can do nothing by Himself. He does only what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”
- Jesus’ whole goal was to get alone with His Father and then follow His instructions.
- And whenever His Father said “Go”, then He would “Go”
- Wherever His Father said to “Go”, He would “Go!”
- Whomever His Father would say to “Go to”, He would “Go to”.
- Today, worry less about what people around you think and what they want you to do!
- First follow the example of Jesus.
- Get alone with Jesus, get your identity from Jesus.
- Get your direction and instructions from Jesus.
- Go where He says to go and do what He says to do!
- You won’t go wrong!
- Have a great Monday!
