LIVE LIKE A KING

“He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭17‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- This was the most important instruction for the King of Israel.

- If He was going to lead the people, then he needed this wisdom and guidance.

- He must have his own personal copy of the Word of God.

- Verse 18 says that “He must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.”

- ‭‭”Copy for himself” so that he would not miss a word!

- Not listen to someone else’s opinion on the Word, but write it out himself.

- Know it, himself!

- So that He could have the wisdom that comes from the word and the guidance that comes from the word and the blessing that comes from the word!

- It’s important!

- How about you?

- Do you read Gods word daily?

- Have you written out the parts that you are memorizing or studying?

- The Lord knew how important it was to write it out and how writing it helps you to study it and memorize it!

- After writing it, he was to read what he had written, daily! The Amplified reads like this, “…He shall read it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear [and worship] the Lord his God [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect], by carefully obeying (keeping foremost in his thoughts and actively doing) all the words of this law and these statutes,”

- ‭‭Do you have “awe-filled reverence and profound respect]” for God and His Word?

- Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

- Today, write out a verse that stands out to you and study it.

- Carry that verse around with you until you memorize it.

- Then practice obeying it and living it out!

- That’s how you keep yourself from missing the mark of a right relationship with God!

- That will help guide you away from sin!

- His word is powerful!

- Today, read it, write it, study it memorize it and obey it!

- If you want to live like a King then this is how you do it!
