DEVO. 10.16.26

“He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”” (Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- Look at what Jesus did with his body!

- He takes the bread and he thanks God for it!

- Jesus is sitting down with his disciples and sharing this Passover meal with them.

- He knows, fully well, what is going to happen to his body in the days ahead.

- He knows that his body is going to be slaughtered!

- He’s going to be whipped and tortured and beaten!

- He is going to have nails driven through his hands and his feet!

- He is going to have a crown of thorns pierced into his skull!

- He is going to be spit upon and mocked.

- And yet He holds up the bread, which represents His Body, and He gives thanks for it!

- He is thank God for the opportunity to surrender His life for you and me!

- Never lose the wonder of what Jesus did for you and me!

- Never lose the awe of His sacrifice.

- Don’t treat it as common or ordinary!

- Without His sacrifice, your life cannot be redeemed.

- If He did not lay down His life, you cannot have a new life, you cannot be saved.

- Jesus said, “This is my body, which is given for you.” He knows the purpose of His body!

- Today, thank Him for His incredible sacrifice!

- Thank Him for willingly going to the cross!

- Thank Him for dying so that you can live!

- He gave His life for you, now what are you going to do with this new life that you have?

- Let’s lay down our life for others!

- Tell Jesus, “Thank you!” And use your new life to reach others with this incredible message!

- Have a great weekend!
