DEVO. 04.22.24
”You are to cling to the Lord your God, just as you have done to this day.“
(Joshua 23:8 AMP)
- Have you ever seen a sock clinging to another piece of clothing when you take them out of the laundry?
- The static charge causes them to stick together.
- The definition of the word cling means, “To hold fast or adhere to something, as by grasping, sticking, embracing, or entwining.”
- “Cling” also means, “To remain close; resist separation.”
- In this verse, Joshua is old in age. He has led the children of Israel into the promised land and helped them to conquer it.
- In some of his final instructions to the Israelites, he reminds them of the secrets of their success.
- It’s also the secret to our success.
- He says “Cling to the Lord”
- Short and simple but all success starts and ends there!
- Hold fast to the Lord!
- Adhere to Him!
- Stick to Him, and resist separation!
- Our lives are filled with people, places and things that will try to separate us from Jesus.
- Even our busy schedules will try to separate us from Jesus.
- But just like that sock, stuck on clothes, Cling to Him!
- Stick to His word and let his word stick on you!
- Jesus said, ”If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit!
- When you choose to cling to Him, He is glorified!
- And not only is He glorified but you become fruitful, or successful.
- That is the secret to your success, today.
- Don’t try to go anywhere or do anything without Him because Jesus said in John 15:5, “Without Me you can do nothing.“
- Today, make it your greatest goal to Cling to Jesus!
- Have a great Monday!
