DEVO. 02.20.24
”Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.“ (Exodus 33:11 NLT)
- Joshua would remain!
- This is the making of the type of leader that gets God‘s attention!
- Joshua didn’t get up and go when Moses left the tent of meeting!
- Joshua didn’t go and accomplish the next assignment
- Joshua didn’t work on the next project.
- Joshua remained.
- Joshua had discovered the “one thing” that mattered!
- The Amplified puts it this way, Joshua ”would not depart from the tent.“
- Joshua wanted to stay in the presence of the Lord.
- In doing so, He developed the heart that the Lord needed to lead these people into the promised land.
- It was years in development, but it all starts here.
- What could happen in your life if instead of working harder, you lingered a little longer in the lords presence.
- Picture what that would look like.
- Instead of closing your Bible and saying , “I got my encouraging Word of the day.” What if you stayed in the presence of the Word?
- Think about the daily transformation of dwelling in His presence, little by little, each day.
- It just like Mary, who seated herself at Jesus’ feet and was continually listening to His teaching. But Martha was very busy and distracted with all of her serving responsibilities.
- Jesus said to Martha, ”There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42 NLT)
- Mary discovered the One Thing that mattered!
- The same can be said about Joshua. He discovered the One Thing that made all the difference! Being in the presence of the Lord!
- Today, don’t “Do more”, “Be more!
- “Be more” in his presence!
- Have a great Tuesday!
