DEVO. 10.01.25
“…Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.” (Philippians 2:12 NLT)
- The apostle Paul instructs us to “work hard” to show the results of our salvation!
- Don’t be confused by this! He is not saying to “work hard” to obtain salvation. He is saying “work hard” to show the results.
- Results are what you work for!
- If you are dieting, then the results are what shows up on the scale.
- If you are training for a sport, then the results are shown on game day.
- Results reveal if you have prepared correctly.
- So, the apostle Paul is not saying to "work hard" for salvation.
- He is saying that once you have given your life to Jesus Christ, you work out what He has already done on the inside of you!
- You are forgiven, so live as someone who has been forgiven.
- You are purified, so live as someone who is pure.
- Don't look at impure things and don’t let impure talk come out of your mouth. That’s not who you are!
- You were once in bondage and slavery to certain sins and things that blinded you spiritually, but now the chains are broken and you are bound no more.
- Live in freedom because of what He has done!
- He says obey God with deep reverence and fear!
- That doesn’t mean that you are afraid of God but that you are afraid to live without Him.
- Your desire is to reflect His holiness and glory that He has obtained for you!
- Ephesians 5:15 says, “Be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.”
- Working hard requires deep commitment and conviction.
- Today, don’t live careless but be careful!
- Work hard to show the results of your Salvation!
- Have a great Wednesday!
