DEVO. 01.24.26
“Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.” (Matthew 8:13 NLT)
- Here is a remarkable cause and effect!
- Jesus said, “Because you believed, it has happened.”
- Those are Jesus’ words not mine.
- There is a direct correlation between what you receive due to what you believe.
- You cannot receive something if you first don’t believe it.
- In essence, believing is the place of conception.
- In Mark 9:23, Jesus says, “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
- So, in this story, we have a Roman Officer receiving from a Jewish Rabi! He’s not even Jewish, but His faith was willing to receive healing for His servant.
- In verse 6 He says to Jesus, “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.”
- That is the problem. He could have decided that He was not Jewish and din not come under the blessing and just settled with the circumstances.
- But, No! He knew there had to be more for his servant and his faith rose above all the barriers.
- He knew that Jesus could heal, He just had to believe that Jesus would heal his servant.
- He said to Jesus, “Just say the word where you are and my servant will be healed.”
- He was basically saying, “I don’t need a special service or a special action, I don’t even need you to come to my house, I just need a word!”
- Jesus said to him, “I haven’t seen faith like this in all of Israel.” (Matt.8:10)
- All of Israel! That includes the disciples and all of His followers!
- How about you?
- What seems to be your obstacle or ailment?
- Do you believe that Jesus can heal and do you believe that He is willing to heal you?
- No matter what your condition, what has been broken or what the ailment is!
- Do you believe that He can and will do it.
- Do you believe that He will do it for you?
- Today, let your belief in who He is and what He can do, lead you to receiving from Him and experiencing your breakthrough!
- Have a great weekend!
