DEVO. 05.27.25

“If my people who are called by my name.” ((2 Chronicles 7:14))

- “My People”

- What makes you God’s people?

- Did you choose Him or did He choose you?

- God chose you out of His love for you.

- God made a promise to Abraham. In Genesis 12:3 the Lord says, ““I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.””

- ‭‭God made a lot of “I will” statements.

- Because God chose them, they became His people.

- Galatians 3:6 says, “In the same way, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God.”

- ‭‭The Apostle Paul’s says, “in the same way”…In other words, Abraham responded to God’s love and we have the same opportunity to respond to God’s love.

- 1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ says, ‬‬“For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”

- ‭‭He called you out of Darkness and into His light!

- Just like He called Abraham out, He has called you out!

- What is our part? Just like Abraham, We have to believe!

- Jesus said, “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” (John‬ ‭15‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

- ‭‭God gave His Son Jesus and we believe! That’s the order.

- So, today, thank Him for His love and for choosing you!

- Say to the Lord, “Thank you for choosing me, and thank you that I have the opportunity to be called by your name!”
