DEVO. 10.07.25
"And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.” (Colossians 2:6 NLT)
- Take a look at the word, “continue”.
- I have heard a lot of people say, “how do I keep the fire burning?” Or “how do I stay passionate about Jesus?”
- The Apostle Paul gives us the answer here.
- Do you remember when you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord?
- Did you fall in love with Him?
- Were you grateful for all that He had done for you and all that He was doing in you?
- All your sins were forgiven!
- You were made new!
- You were cleansed!
- You were whole!
- And it was all because of what Jesus had done, not something that you had to work for.
- Not something you had to earn.
- It was a free gift!
- And the giver of that gift was Jesus!
- The new life that you had been given, started with Jesus, continues with Jesus, and ends with Jesus!
- It’s all about Him!
- As you accepted Him, it brought Joy...
- It brought Hope…
- It brought Healing…
- It brought Newness of Life!
- So the Apostle Paul is saying, “Just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must CONTINUE!”
- He is saying you must continue to walk with Him and hang out with Him.
- With Him you have everything, without Him you have nothing.
- Be desperate for His presence.
- Spend time with Him through His Word and prayer.
- You have to reflect His character in the things you do and say.
- As you spend time with Him, you will begin to sound like Him and your actions will look like His actions.
- Live a life that leads others away from sin and points them towards true life.
- A life that is filled with His Peace and His Presence.
- A life overflowing with His Goodness and Grace.
- Continue following Him today just like you started.
- Live a life that is overflowing with gratefulness and being thankful.
- Galatians 6:9 says, "Don’t become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
- So don’t become weary and don’t give up when things get difficult.
- Let your passion for Him remain as strong as it was in the beginning!
- Let your fire for Him burn bright today!
- Let it begin in you and let it continue in you!
- Have a great Tuesday!
