DEVO. 09.19.25

“I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.” (Psalms‬ ‭62‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬

- Are you waiting for something or someone?

- Waiting for help?

- Waiting for an event?

- Waiting for a breakthrough?

- The Psalmist, David, says that He “waits quietly.”

- Both of those words, “waits quietly,” don’t seem very powerful but those two words are full of potential!

- Because waiting means that someone is coming!

- And the one who you are waiting on, makes all the difference

- In this case, the Psalmist is showing us that we need to wait for God.

- Instead of trusting in yourself and your own abilities, you can turn it all over to Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who Provides!

- Or Jehovah Shalom, the Lord who is your Peace!

- Or El Shaddai, the All sufficient one!

- Anything that you need, He has!

- As you wait for Him you will learn from Him and grow in Him.

- When the Psalmist says, “Wait quietly”, he also reveals the need to close your mouth so that God has an opportunity to fill it with His words.

- Psalm 81:10 says, “I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.”

- ‭‭The only way that you can open your mouth to be filled by Him is after it’s empty.

- So, you need to empty out all of your words so that there is room to be filled with the Word of God.

- God is looking for those that He can fill and bless today but He needs you to get out of the way and surrender control over to Him.

- The victory you need really does come from Him!

- He alone is your rock and salvation!

- He alone!

- Don’t let anyone else or anything else replace His presence!

- Wait on Him, trust in Him and rely on Him!
