DEVO. 09.15.25

“…Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.” (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- The Apostle Paul is telling the church to work hard to show the results of salvation!

- This is so important for us to understand.

- He is not saying to work hard to get salvation.

- No amount of work is going to earn you salvation.

- Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly says, “God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”

- You can’t earn it or wok for it!

- It’s a free gift!

- All you can do is receive it!

- If you have to work for a gift, then it’s not a gift. It’s payment for something you’ve done.

- God has really made it simple for us.

- Jesus did what we could not have done on our own. Now, we simply receive the payment that He made with His own sinless body and blood!

- He took the curse upon His body and you get to receive His blessing!

- Now the apostle Paul says, “Work hard to show the results of your salvation.”

- If you have been set free and forgiven, there should be evidence.

- The prisoner that is released and set free should not go back and continue doing the same things that placed Him in prison in the first place.

- You received a fresh start!

- You got a new beginning!

- Work had to show the results of the free gift that you received!

- You should look different, talk different and act different than the world!

- Continue to obey God with deep reverence and fear!
