DEVO. 08.21.25
“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
(1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT)
- The apostle Paul lists 3 things that will last forever.
- First, there is “Faith”, which is an abiding trust in God‘s promises.
- Next, there is “Hope”, which is our confident expectation of eternal salvation.
- Then there is “Love” , which is an unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me.
- Then he actually says that love is the most important of all of them.
- When you look at it, you won’t have hope and faith if you don’t love.
- Love is so important but usually the least emphasized in our day-to- day lives.
- I think the bigger question is not, “Do you love,” but “Are you love?”
- If God is love and we are supposed to be imitators of Him then shouldn’t we be trying to be love, ourselves?
- Instead of trying to do things in love, how about we just take on the character and the qualities of love, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
- If we are filled with the Holy Spirit then we will be filled with Love.
- When we Are love, love will naturally flow out of us.
- It’s not something that we do in a moment, it is something that we put on permanently.
- Selfless love should exude out of us.
- When you are full of love you will always be looking at how you can build others up and bless others.
- Your mindset will not be, “What can I get others to do for me.” But, “What can I do for others?”
- Here’s a good question to ask yourself, “When people come in contact with you, do they walk away feelling as if they have encountered love?”
- When people meet you, do they feel “loved on”?
- Do people know that you truly care, or do they feel rushed and like they are a bother?
- Let’s be driven by love!
- Let’s learn to love well because each day we have received the Love of our Heavenly Father and now we are passing it on to others.
- Today, be the Love that you read about when you open the pages of your Bible.
- Gods bless you! Have a great Thursday.
