DEVO. 08.11.15

“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name:” (‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

- Jeremiah was confined in the courtyard of the guard.

- It’s a place of confinement.

- A place where no one can get to him and he cannot get to anyone else.

- But in this place, the Lord speaks.

- And Jeremiah is clear who He is speaking with.

- He says, “He is the the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it”

- He is the One who was before everything.

- He created all that we see out of nothing!

- He is the One who created every fiber of your being!

- This awesome Lord says, “‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”

- ‭‭Do you know how some people are so important that they can’t give out their number?

- If your favorite celebrity or athlete was to give out their number, everyone would bombard them with text and calls!

- But The Lord says, “here is my number and I will answer” and most of the time we are too busy to answer!

- Too preoccupied!

- Too distracted.

- Too overwhelmed!

- God has to work around all of the busy people just to get a word to His prophet so that He can relay it to Gods people.

- Sounds a little ridiculous, doesn’t it?

- As a church, we have entered into 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting if for no other reason than to stop and realize who is talking here and that He is asking us to call on His name!

- Are we so important that we don’t have time to stop and talk with Him?

- He says that He wants to “tell us great and unsearchable things that we do not know.’”

- Today would be a good day to stop and listen and get into the Word of God and then speak to Him through prayer!
