DEVO. 07.21.25
“I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.” (Psalms 17:6 NLT)
- Do you know?
- Do you know that God will answer?
- As David prays in Psalm 17, He prays with a certainty that God is going to answer.
- This gives him confidence and boldness as he prays.
- This gives Him a persistence as He prays!
- Think about it. If we truly believed that God was going to answer our prayers, wouldn’t we be praying more?
- He doesn’t say “how” or “when” God answers, he just knows that he does!
- Most of the time we give up praying because we get caught up in the “how” or the “when”.
- We give up because His “How” doesn’t match up with our “how”, when we clearly know that Isaiah 55:8-9 say, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.”
- We must stay focused on the fact that He does answer our prayers and it’s not up to us to determine the “How” or the “when” He will answer.
- We simply need to adjust our hearts to the fact that He loves us, He hears us and He has good plans for us.
- His ways are better than our ways and His timing is better than our timing.
- He knows the final product of you that He is trying to create.
- God is more interested in your character than your comfort.
- He is not going to let your character be underdeveloped, just so you can get what you want when you want it.
- He is building up strength in your inner man.
- He wants you to be strong in Spirit and He wants you to have faith that endures!
- Today, focus on the fact that God does answer you prayer and let him know that you trust Him with the “How” and the “when”.
- Have a great Monday!
