DEVO. 07.17.25
“But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” (Romans 4:5 NLT)
- Do you still feel like you have to do more in order to be accepted by God?
- You don’t have to do more, just “Be” more.
- You’ve got to receive what’s already been done by Jesus.
- Just as this verse says, you aren’t “counted as righteous” because of anything you’ve done.
- There is no amount of good works that you can do.
- Jesus was the only righteous one!
- When he died on the cross and shed his blood, He did that as the pure spotless, innocent lamb of God.
- When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are receiving what He did as payment in full for your salvation.
- All of His righteousness is transferred into your account and your unrighteousness was transferred to Him.
- He took on your unrighteousness and gave you His righteousness.
- You couldn’t earn it and don’t deserve it.
- You simply believe and receive it.
- You have faith in God who forgives sinners!
- You are counted righteous because of your faith.
- Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
- “Not by works” so stop trying to work for something that you already have.
- Your work for Him and service to Him is out of Love for what He has done!
- He has changed you and made you a new person!
- When you serve, you do it out of a heart that is overflowing and full of love and thankfulness for what He has done.
- It’s a heart that says, “Thank you Jesus, for making me new!”
- Thank God, today, that He has made you righteous and He chose to pour His love out on you!
- Have a great Thursday!
