DEVO. 07.14.25
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14 NIV)
- Jesus makes a lot of “I AM” statements about himself. Seven in the book of John alone.
- But, do you know that he makes many, “You Are” statements to His followers.
- If you believe the “I Am’s” about Jesus, then you must also believe the, “You Are” statements about yourself.
- His “You Are” statements are full of Identity and purpose and vision.
- In Matthew 5:14 He says, “You Are the light of the world”
- I think it’s important for us, when we read that, to say, “I Am the light of the World.”
- If Jesus believes this about you, then you need to believe it about yourself, because you will never live something that you do not believe.
- Jesus, who is “The way, The Truth and The Light” says that “You are Light”
- Then you must say today, “What does light do?”
- Light's purpose is to shine!
- You are meant to shine in a dark world!
- When light gets in the presence of darkness, it should not take on darkness.
- It should not dim!
- It should “shine!”
- Today, examine your life and look at the places where your light has been flickering or dimming.
- Make the choice to shine even brighter!
- Shine in your morals and values.
- Shine in your speech and conduct!
- Shine in your habits!
- Today, make the choice to not allow darkness to creep in any more.
- Write down areas where you need to shine!
- “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
- Today, SHINE!
- Have a great Monday!
