DEVO. 05.15.25
“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT)
- Do you need changes in your life?
- In 2 Chronicles 7:13, God says, “At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you.”
- God is saying that, these are conditions where change needs to happen.
- Change starts with identity
- Identity is who you really are.
- Identity is not what people say about you or even the image that you try to project
- Your true identity is what God says about you
- The scripture starts off with God talking about “My people“
- So the first question is, are you God‘s people?
- Spiritual change only happens if you are His child.
- God‘s children need to know how to hear his voice
- If you are God‘s children and you’re not hearing his voice, then the question is why are you not hearing his voice?
- A child knows how to hear their parents voice
- “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”(John 1:12-13 NLT)
- What are the conditions?
- Believe and accept Him.
- That’s it!
- It’s not performing a bunch of religious activity or even attending church.
- Romans 10:9 says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
- Say it with your mouth and believe it in your heart.
- Matthew 12:34 says, “…For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
- So let’s fill ourselves up with what God says about us!
- 2 Cor. 5:17 says, “that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
- You are new!
- Colossians 2:10 says, “You also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”
- You are complete! And if you are complete, then there is nothing else you need for fulfillment.
- So today, fill yourself up with what God says about you!
- Remind yourself that you are “His people”
- You are His child and you are loved!
- Have a great Thursday!
