DEVO. 03.23.26

“You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭26‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- Jesus was talking to the religious teachers of His day but He is also talking to us.

- He was saying, “For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence!” (Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭25‬)

- What’s more important, the outside or the inside?

- Imagine, cleaning a cup so it looks bright and beautiful in the outside, but the inside of the cup is full sludge from the days before?

- Would you drink out of that cup?

- I hope you said, “No!”

- Why? Because the inside is more important than the outside!

- The same is true for us!

- What does it matter if we look very attractive and pretty on the outside but on the inside we are filled with lust, anger, jealousy, bitterness and our hearts and minds are filled with filth?

- It really doesn’t matter how you appear on the outside if inside you are dirty.

- Jesus says, “First wash the inside”

- We can stop right there!

- First wash the inside of your heart and life and automatically it will have an impact on your attractiveness on the outside.

- Repent of the hidden sins that no one sees.

- 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

- ‭‭The process works like this: we confess and repent and He cleanses us!

- Take care of cleaning the inside and He takes care of the rest

- Let’s do it Jesus’ way! From the inside out!

- Have a great Monday!
