DEVO. 01.28.26

“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

- Jesus is sending out His disciples.

- “He says, “As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”(Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭7‬)

- When He taught His disciples to pray, He told them to pray like this…”Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ )

- He has taught them to pray for Gods kingdom and now they are establishing His kingdom!

- This is not just His instructions for His disciples long ago, this is His instructions for you and me right now!

- Our job is to establish His Kingdom, here on earth, in our neighborhoods, at our workplaces, in our schools and in our government!

- And what does it look like to establish His kingdom?

- The answer is Matthew 10:8. “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons.”

- That is literally what we are commanded to do!

- We are to look beyond the physical and deal with the spiritual.

- Sounds difficult?

- We wish He had said, be sweet, kind, loving and friendly, but Jesus speaks to the real issues.

- You aren’t really loving someone if you are allowing them to stay in bondage to sin and are not dealing with demonic oppression.

- He says, freely you have received, so freely give!

- For everyone who has been freed from the enemy, you must set others free.

- It’s not okay to leave someone trapped in a jail cell , if you have the keys of freedom!

- So let’s address the real issues and heal those who are sick and deal with the demons instead of ignoring them!

- Let’s establish the kingdom of God.
