Prayer = The Difference Maker

“But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.”
Acts 12:5 NLT
- Who you talk to is important!
- Prior to me flying to Uganda, I had a problem. My problem was that my Visa kept getting declined.
- If I can’t get that Visa then I’m not getting in the country and not going on the mission trip.
- So I was given 2 phone numbers. One was the Uganda embassy NYC and the other was the Uganda embassy DC.
- With NYC I kept going to voice mail.
- That doesn’t help when you are down to one day before your flight leaves.
- I then called the DC embassy. They pick up the phone right away. They asked what the problem was. They looked into it and within minutes approved my Visa.
- That’s what happens when you talk to the right person at the right time.
- In today’s Scripture, Peter was in a really bad situation.
- He was imprisoned and placed under the guard of four squads of four soldiers each.
- That looks impossible, but the church was praying!
- Prayer is simply talking to the right person at the right time.
- When you pray to God, you are inviting Him in to help in your situation.
- And they were not just praying, it says “the church prayed very earnestly.”
- The church could have complained and said how bad things were and said, poor Peter!
- But no, the church prayed earnestly!
- They prayed like it was going to make a difference.
- Prayer is the difference between the best that you can do and the best that God can do!
- When God heard His people calling on His name, He said, “I’m going to get, my boy Peter, out of this bad situation!
- God performed a mighty deliverance that day.
- And God can do the same for you.
- My problem was a simple Visa hold up.
- Their problem was a disciple lock up and lock down.
- What’s your situation?
- Nothing is to big or to small for the God of the breakout!
- He says, “‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’(Jeremiah 33:3)
- Simply ask!
- Have a great day!
