DEVO 09.26.25
“Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order [trimmed the wicks and added oil and lit them].” (Matthew 25:7 AMP)
- They all got up when the announcement was made!
- Scripture says, “But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! The bridegroom [is coming]! Go out to meet him.’” (Matthew 25:6 )
- There will be a shout!
- There will be an announcement that the bridegroom has arrived!
- And you will need to put “your own” lamp in order.
- That phrase “their own” stands out to me.
- Every single person is responsible for their own spiritual condition.
- It’s not based on your parents' relationship with Jesus.
- It’s not about your pastor or Sunday school teacher.
- It’s about you!
- Are you walking daily with Him, filled with the Spirit, praying to Him and in an intimate relationship with Him?
- Now is not the time to point your finger and say, “I would be but, ‘they hurt me.’”
- "I would be but they spoke about me behind my back."
- This is about you and your walk!
- What does your lamp look like?
- Is your wick trimmed, do you have plenty of oil, and is your light burning bright?
- Your lamp must be lit in order to see!
- Don’t allow things that have quenched the Spirit of God in your life to remain.
- Don’t allow things that have hardened your heart, like unforgiveness and bitterness, to stay.
- Get rid of everything weighty and everything that may hinder your walk with Jesus.
- Hebrews 12:1 says, “…let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
- Because when the time comes and the Bridegroom arrives, there will not be time!
- Today is the day of salvation, now is the time to take care of things!
- “…the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut and locked.” (Matthew 25:10)
- You’ve got one shot at this!
- Get right with Jesus and be found ready!
- Be prepared!
- Have a great weekend!
