DEVO 08.08.25

“This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” (‭‭Romans‬ ‭13‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- The Apostle Paul sent out an urgent message!

- He believed in the imminent return of Jesus!

- And if he believed that, then how much closer is His return now!

- He says “Wake up!”

- He goes on to say, “Remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.”

- ‭‭What do you do with your clothes when they are dirty? You throw them in the hamper to be washed.

- Then, you put on clean clothes. You don’t keep wearing dirty garments.

- Why? Because you don’t want Jesus to show up and you are wearing the filth of the world on you.

- If He has saved you from it , don’t keep living in it!

- If you are preparing for a nice banquet, why would you keep wearing dirty, nasty, stained clothes when you have been given a whole new wardrobe?

- You wouldn’t.

- You would wash up and clean up and put on the new clothing that you have been given.

- Verse 14 says, “Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.”

- ‭‭Think about ways that you may be wearing dirty garments. Maybe it’s your thought life. Maybe it’s your attitude or things that you let “slip” out of your mouth.

- If it’s of the world, then take it off and leave it off!

- Don’t be dressed in a mess when the Savior is about to return!

- Be pure in your thoughts, actions, behavior and attitude!

- The King is coming and He has already purchased the righteous clothing that you get to wear!

- Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus!

- If He wouldn’t wear it, then you shouldn’t either!

- It’s time to wake up! The King is coming!
