DEVO. 07.16.25

“No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” (Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- As we talk about being light, Jesus is very clear about what light does and doesn’t do.

- He says “No One” puts a light under a basket.

- He said that light is meant for everyone in the house.

- It’s meant for those who love and despise the light.

- Everyone needs light because everyone needs to see.

- In John 3:19, He said, “God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.”

- He did not say that He stopped shining around people who loved darkness.

- He did not say that he hid his light around those who did not like the light or did not understand the light.

- He didn’t hide His light because it would offend someone.

- He simply said, “Let your light so shine.”

- In John 3:21, He said, “Those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

- ‭‭He also said, “All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.”

- ‭‭When you shine, you are revealing light and giving people the opportunity to respond to the light.

- You were never meant to hide the light.

- Hiding light is foolish.

- But when you shine, people are faced with a choice. To either accept it or reject it.

- This is not judgmental or critical. This is simply being who you are!

- You can never control how people react to the light.

- Your only job is to shine!

- No one can come out of darkness unless they see your light.

- In the same way, you can’t expose a lie unless you present truth.

- You cannot expose darkness unless you shine light.

- You are that Light.

- Today, know who you are = Light!

- Now, you know what to do = shine!

- Don’t hide it! No one does that!

- Instead, give light to everyone!

- Be visible!

- Be seen!

- Light illuminates!

- Light brings revelation.

- Light brings life!

- When people see light, it will reveal God!
