DEVO. 06.24.26

“Overhearing what was being said, Jesus said to the synagogue official, “Do not be afraid; only keep on believing [in Me and my power].”” (‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭36‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

- There are not a lot of instances that Jesus tells us to “Only” do something but here he says it!

- So if Jesus says, “Only” then it must be important!

- Jesus and His disciples were walking on the way to Jairus’ house.

- He was a synagogue ruler and had come to Jesus and fell at His feet and pleaded earnestly with Him.

- He said, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.”(5‬:‭23‬)

- Verse 42 tells us that she was 12 years old.

- This 12 year old girl just needed a touch from Jesus.

- As Jesus walked to Jairus’ house he was touched by a woman who had been sick for 12 years.

- She was sick as long as Jairus’ daughter had been alive!

- Both needed a touch.

- The woman needed to touch Jesus and Jairus needed Jesus to touch his daughter.

- Jesus’ touch can affect both the older and the younger Generation!

- The number 12 in the Bible symbolizes God's power, authority, and completeness.

- As Jesus approaches this 12 year old girl, He overhears the men from Jairus house saying, “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”” (5‬:‭35‬)

- Those words were actually interrupting Jesus’ words.

- Isn’t that how the enemy works?

- He wants His words to play louder than Jesus words.

- He wants the words of death to drown out the words of life.

- The Devil wants Jesus stopped even before he can get to this girl!

- As Jesus approaches the girl, “The people laughed at him.”

- The Devil will do whatever it takes to stop a miracle and Jesus will do whatever it takes to make a miracle happen.

- Jesus had to ignore the crowd and their words and tell them, “Do not be afraid; only keep on believing.”

- Only keep on believing in Jesus and His power.

- What voices do you need to silence, today, in order to hear Jesus voice?

- Is it the voice of sickness, fear, anxiety, doubt or death?

- Today, it’s important to silence every voice so that you only hear the voice of Jesus, your Healer, your deliverer, your Savior!

- His voice and His touch changes everything!

- Verse 41 says, “He took her by the hand and said to her, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.”

- ‭‭It’s amazing what happens when you listen to the right voice and receive the right touch!

- Jesus’ voice and His touch will astonish you!

- Today, block out every other voice that is speaking over Jesus’ voice.

- Hear what He says and receive His touch!

- Have a great Wednesday!
