DEVO. 06.13.25
“Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it will be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was restored to health at that very hour.” (Matthew 8:13 AMP)
- What are you believing Jesus for today?
- What is your biggest prayer request?
- Here, in this story, we find a centurion.
- Not a Jewish rabbi
- Not a religious leader or priest.
- This centurion is outside the Jewish covenant.
- Even though Jesus came to save everyone, He came to the Jew first.
- The Apostle Paul said, in Romans 1:16; “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
- Jew first!
- At this time, Jesus was only known as a Jewish messiah and a Jewish rabbi.
- But this centurion has to have the faith to believe that Jesus could heal his servant even though he wasn’t a Jew.
- Even though he had a high position he had a humble heart.
- He said to Jesus in Luke 7: 7, “Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.”
- He, the conqueror, the Roman ruling class , had to come under the authority of a Jewish rabbi.
- He said to Jesus, “Say the word, and my servant will be healed.” (Luke 7:7)
- Just say the Word!
- His faith had to rise above all the obstacles, all the religious mindsets, all the reasons that he didn’t deserve this, and all the unbelief!
- The Word of God, in flesh, has to speak a Word and he had to believe that, that word, had the power to heal!
- How about you?
- Can your faith rise above all the obstacles?
- Can your faith rise above all the doubt?
- Jesus said, “Go; it will be done for you as you have believed.”
- He had to believe in order to receive!
- If he doesn’t believe then he doesn’t receive.
- This is a matter of the heart.
- Do you believe that Jesus can still heal today?
- Do you believe that Jesus can still bring your prodigal home?
- Do you believe that Jesus can cleanse and set free the alcoholic and drug addict?
- If you believe that He can then you need to pray like He can!
- Don’t limit Jesus based on the size of the problem or the length of time.
- Let your faith rise above your circumstances.
- Let your faith become greater than religious mindsets.
- Jesus said, “Go; it will be done for you as you have believed.”
- He had to “Go”, expecting, even before he could see the healing.
- Simply believe!
- Let His power match your belief!
- Have a great weekend!
