DEVO 05.22.26 (Part 2)

DEVO. 05.22.26 - FEED THEM

““But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “With what?” they asked. “We’d have to work for months to earn enough money to buy food for all these people!”” (Mark‬ ‭6‬:‭37‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- I am going to return to this verse one more time this week because I believe that we all need to dwell on this.

- The people have been with Jesus all day and they are hungry.

- The disciples are about to send them away and Jesus says, “you feed them”

- I had a conversation with my friend David Isais a few years ago and he was telling me about this mission called “African Bible Missions.” I was fascinated.

- They target areas of the world where there is a Bible poverty.

- People are literally starving spiritually because they don’t have the word of God.

- They don’t have His Word in their heart because that don’t have it in their hand.

- There may be one or two Bibles in a church but it may not even be in a translation that they can read!

- He told me that they have a plan.

- He’s a man with a plan!

- He told me that they want to wipe out Bible poverty by bringing the Word of God to them in a language and dialect that they can understand.

- Just like bringing food to a physically starving person, David was bringing the Word of God to spiritually starving people.

- And then he said 3 words that have changed my life.

- He said , “You can come!”

- To me, it was no different than Jesus saying to the disciples, “You feed them”

- Those Words burned like fire inside of me and still do, and no Ebola Virus or any other virus will keep me from feeding starving people!

- “You feed them” are not Demanding Words or condemning words.

- Those are words of an invitation! Just like “You can come!”

- An invitation to join God in what He has called me to do!

- And if I am doing Gods work, then I believe that will protect and provide for me, my son and our team.

- Call me stupid but I actually believe that God wants to reveal Himself to others through our childlike faith!

- “You feed them”… What is Jesus calling you to do or say, that if you do it, the world around you will scream, “You are crazy!”

- Do it!

- Don’t think about it because you will talk yourself out of it!

- The God who brought you to it is the God who will bring you through it!

- Don’t let fear keep you on the bench when Jesus has called you to play!

- Let your faith rise above all the reasons to play it safe.

- Have a faith filled Thursday!
