EVO. 04.28.25
“…He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 8:3)
- What sustains you?
- What keeps you going physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?
- God was telling the Israelites that there was a reason for His humbling of them by allowing them to wander in the desert for 40 years.
- Moses said, God did it “to teach them!”
- It was a teaching moment!
- And when we go through humbling times, and confusing times, it is a teaching moment as well.
- When we are empty, it’s a teaching moment.
- Will you cling to the Word of God more than the Word of man?
- Will you care more about feeding your spirit than feeding your belly?
- Will you depend on God more than what others can do for you?
- Will you depend on God’s word, more than physical food?
- God's Word is reliable.
- God's Word is trustworthy!
- God's Word is powerful, but only to the degree that you trust in it!
- We need to empty ourselves of relying on self and the physical and instead, trust in the spiritual.
- If you truly want to live, then you must listen to and rely on the Word of God.
- “We live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."
- “Every Word” - not just the Words that we like or the easy words.
- Every Word of the Lord is important.
- When God speaks, it comes with His Breath.
- The Breath of God is the Spirit of God!
- The Spirit + the Word = Power!
- So today, no matter what you face, face it with the Word and the Spirit!
- Verse 6 says, “So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking inHis ways and fearing Him.”
- To walk in His ways is to walk in His Word.
- That’s your plan for success. Hold onto His word and walk in the Spirit.
- Know His Word, obey His Word and walk in the Spirit!
- Have a great Monday!
