DEVO. 12.12.24
“So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see.” (Revelation 3:18 NLT)
- When Jesus offers advice, you always want to listen and obey.
- He is speaking to the Church of Laodicea.
- They said we’re saying, “I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’
- They thought they had it all and yet they had nothing.
- The church of Laodicea is us!
- This is today’s American church!
- We have money for programs and activities and we look good on the outside.
- We have as 2 Timothy 3:5 says, “a form of godliness but denying its power.”
- Jesus says, “Don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.” (Revelation 3:17)
- But He offers a solution.
- Jesus will always point out Truth and pull us into Truth.
- He says, “Buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.” (Rev. 3:18 )
- “Buy from me” means that it is going to cost you something.
- Buy true gold that is refined in the fire of trials and affliction that produces real Godly character.
- White garments, which are “The righteous acts of the saints! (Rev. 19:8)
- Eye salve so that you can truly, see spiritually and know, what you are missing!
- Today, follow the advice that Jesus gives.
- You don’t have to be poor, naked and blind.
- You can be rich in faith!
- You can have 20/20 spiritual vision and, you can be fully clothed in righteousness.
- Today, ask the Lord to show you any area of your spiritual life where you are poor but need to be rich.
