DEVO. 11.14.24
“Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.” (John 12:26 NLT)
- Anyone!
- These are Jesus’ words and He starts out with “anyone” who wants to serve Him or follow Him.
- “Anyone” means it is open to any person regardless of their past or present circumstances.
- Regardless of social or economical class.
- Regardless of race or nationality.
- But it is also a choice.
- Do you want to serve Jesus?
- If the answer is “Yes!” then keep reading.
- You MUST follow Him!
- That means that He leads and you follow.
- You go where He goes.
- You serve who He wants you to serve.
- Jesus says, “My servants MUST be where I am.”
- Jesus doesn’t say, “You should be...” - He says, “You MUST be.”
- It’s important to pay attention to Jesus when He says, you “must be”
- My question is, what things are we doing that are nice and kind and even a great idea but Jesus isn’t in it?
- You MUST be where Jesus is.
- If you want to be God's servant and doing God's activity, then you have to be in a continual, ongoing relationship with Jesus. Step by step.
- Not doing what He had you doing, yesterday, but what does He want you to do, “right now!”
- What does He want you to do today?
- Today is the day!
- Where is God working? You need to know that, because that is where you will be most effective!
- And when you begin to serve Him, in the “now time,” you will see God-sized results.
- Jesus says, “The Father will honor anyone who serves me.”
- That’s the place that miracles happen.
- That’s where eternal results occur!
- Today, find out where God wants you to be and go there!
- Have a great Thursday!
