“So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21-22 NKJV
- This is the resurrected Christ and he is sending out His disciples. - He says, just “as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” - This means, in the same way and to do the same things. - There are some things that you can do in your own strength but you had better not try doing a God sized assignment in your own strength! - Jesus knows that they will need more than what they have on their own. - So it says, He breaths on them. - He imparts! - He gives them something that they don’t have in order to perform something that is beyond their ability. - It’s a fresh wind and a fresh breath! - It’s a new power. - A divine empowerment to take them beyond their human limitations. - Just like they needed it, you need it. - Jesus’ job was to give and their job was to receive. - That’s your same job today. - Receive the Holy Spirit. - Receive a Fresh breath and a new wind to accomplish what you can’t do on your own. - What are the things that you are trying to do in your own strength and you are exhausted from you lack of ability? - Today, stop striving and stop working so hard, wearing yourself out mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. - Today, simply receive! - Learn the rhythm of His Spirit as He leads and you follow. - Draft off of Him, it’s much easier! - Have a great Monday!
