DEVO. 11.01.23

“And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.” (‭‭Genesis‬ ‭7:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

- 7 days... that’s a long time. - Noah got his family together and all of the animals and they entered the ark. - Then they waited. - Can you imagine what went through their minds? - Noah was 600 years old and he had never seen anything like rain before. - But God said, “Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.” (Genesis‬ ‭7:4‬) - Seven days they waited in a huge wooden boat, a boat that they have built. - There is dry ground all around them with no sign of rain. - There are people all around them mocking them. - And they waited on a word from the Lord. - How about you? Have you been waiting on the Lord? - Are you waiting for God to come through for you in a certain area of your life? - Has it felt like a long time? - Have you questioned your sanity? - Can you trust God? - Today, remember that you serve a covenant keeping God. - If He gives you a “Word” then hold tightly to that Word. - If you don’t have a word from the Lord, then dig deeply into His Word (the Bible) and ask for a “Word” from His Word. - You have a God who speaks. - Hebrews 1:1- 2 says, ““In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son...” - You have the Holy Spirit living inside of you if you are a Christian. - He is the Spirit of Christ. - In Jeremiah 29:13 God says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” - ‭‭Pursue Him with all that you have! - Every Word that He gives you will be tested. - Hold tight and trust Him. - Believe in Him. - Walk closely with Him and wait on Him. - He can be trusted! - The rain will come! - Have a great Wednesday!
