DEVO 10.30.23

DEVO. 10.30.26

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the time of [the second coming of] the Son of Man.” (Luke 17:26 )

- Jesus is describing the time when He will return

- He says, it will be just as it was in Noah’s day.

- He says, “Just as it was…so it will be.”

- So, if we want to be prepared for Christ’s return, we’ve got to ask ourselves, How was it in Noah’s day?

- Verse 27 says, “The people were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, [they were indifferent to God] until the day that Noah went into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.”

- Eating and drinking means that they were more focused on pleasure than the things of God.

- They were consumed with the things of this world and no longer consumed with the Lord.

- They were indifferent to God.

- Indifferent means that they were without concern, not caring or apathetic to the things of God.

- Think about this generation and the days we live in.

- I think this describes our time very well.

- The majority of people have no concern for the things of God.

- They are not looking up and preparing themselves for the soon return of Jesus.

- They aren’t concerned about preparing themselves morally or spiritually for Jesus’ return.

- During Noah’s day there was violence and wickedness on the earth.

- Do you know the Torah portion of scripture, that the Jews were reading, when Hamas came in and terrorized and slaughtered Jewish families on their ending feast day celebration on October 7th?

- “Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. [Hamas]” (Genesis 6:7-11). Yes, the word for violence is “Hamas”

- The Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land” (Genesis 6:7)

- What was God ridding the world of? Hamas or violence

- I think this should cause God’s people to be alert and ready for His possible soon return!

- Make sure that you know and are ready for Jesus.

- Do not allow yourself to become apathetic.

- Prepare your heart and your life.

- It will be “Just as” it was in the days of Noah!

- Purify yourself and let’s Re-Center your life on the things of God!

- Repent of all sin, known and unknown.

- Don’t be caught unaware.

- Have a great Monday!
