DEVO. 10.19.23

“For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God Than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.” (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭10‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

- What would you rather do? Spend 1 day in the presence of God or a thousand days living for yourself with all the money that you could ever want and all the luxuries that this world could offer? - The Psalmist says that if you choose one single day in the presence of God, you have made a good decision! - You see, when you pursue money, ultimately, it won’t last. - When you pursue Provision, it won’t bring the peace that you think it will bring. - When you pursue a title or a position, you will end up empty. - But one single day in the presence of God, can fill you with a God sized vision that will propel you into the future He has for you. - One single day in His presence can bring a joy that lasts throughout every trial and struggle that you face. - One single day in His presence can bring healing to a sick body! - One single day in His presence can restore your soul! - One single day in the presence of the Holy Spirit, by Peter, the disciple who denied Jesus 3 times, looks like this: “Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!””(Acts 2:40) - ‭‭And the result of Peters encounter was that, “Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.”(Acts 2‬:‭41‬) - So let me encourage you to seek the Lord! - Pursue His presence. - That encounter can change the rest of your life! - Don’t settle for a 1,000 days anywhere else when you can spend 1 day in his presence! - Have a great Weekend!
