DEVO. 09.29.23

"Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.” (Isaiah 58:9)

- Do you want to see answered prayer? - Do you want to experience God’s presence? - When you cry for help, do you want Him to say, “Here am I”? - In Isaiah, God says, to His people, “Then you will call., and the Lord will answer.” - Then…when? - When we approach Him, His way. - God’s people had been fasting and praying, but just going through the motions. - They had been seeking God on their terms and in their way. - They were performing the outward duties of praying and fasting without an inward heart change. - They were very busy performing their Religious “Duties”, but missing God in the process. - In Isaiah 29:13, God says, “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. (9) They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.” - Please, don’t let this be you. - He says, “Their hearts are far from me.” - Today, give Him all of your heart. - God does not want your outward obedience, He wants your heart. - God wants the things that break His heart to break yours. - He wants you to humble yourself and say, God, I’m not doing it my way, I’m doing it your way. - He wants you to look up and see the oppression around you and not be alright with it. - He wants you to step in and help those who can’t help themselves. - He doesn’t want you to hide from the world, He wants you to be a Light to the world. - He wants you to help restore what has been broken, but not out of “Duty”...out of His Grace. - Don’t waste your time, approaching God with the right words and actions if you are not going to have a heart that is willing to change. - Today, say to God, “Lord, mold me and shape me into your image” - Truly Humble yourself, today. - Don’t compare yourself to those around you, compare yourself to Jesus. - Don’t look at others and judge others. - Don’t put the focus on anyone else…Put yourself on the examination table and let the Healer come in. - Allow Jesus to come into your life and radically change it. - Allow Him to have complete access to every area of your life. - Don’t cover up anything. - He already knows you, the real you. - He wants to accomplish great things in and through you but first He needs you to trust Him with your heart! - Let today be a “Heart Change” kind of day. - When you do, you will hear Him say, “Here am I” - Have a great Weekend!
