DEVO. 09.24.24
“At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him...” (Luke 2:25 NLT)
- He eagerly waited!
- It was a time of darkness, where the children of God had not heard from God in a long time
- And the children of God reflected that in their actions and morals.
- They reflected a fatherless generation. Not that He has left them but that they had left Him.
- But then there was Simeon. He was a righteous man.
- That means that He was right with God in His heart and actions.
- He was devout to God, filled with the Holy Spirit and he waited in faith and patience as He waited for the Messiah to come.
- Just like Simeon, we as God’s people are to wait for the return of Christ.
- Jesus said, “I will come back again and I will take you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.” (JOHN 14:3 AMP)
- In Matthew 24:42, Jesus says, “So be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming.”
- Be alert!
- Be like faithful Simeon
- I believe that during this season of the Feast of Trumpets and 10 days of repentance is a time when we will see the Return of our Lord.
- Although Jesus tell us in Matt. 24:36 That “No one knows the day or hour when the Messiah will return.” We can know the season that He will return.
- Because of that, we need to prepare your hearts and spiritual life!
- Don’t place your hope in this world and all that it has to offer.
- Be alert and eagerly await the return of Jesus!
- Make the necessary changes that you need to make and be prepared and alert!
- Give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith!
- Have a great Tuesday!
