DEVO. 09.19.23

“Blessed and greatly favored are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; They will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah.” (Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭4‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

- This week is a time known, on God’s Calendar, as the “10 Days of Awe” or “10 Days of Repentance” - Repentance is not just turning away from sin and evil but it is turning to Someone, Jesus, who is Holy, pure and righteous! - Psalm 84 paints a picture of the person who turns to the Lord. - Verse 4 says that person is blessed and highly favored by the Lord. - That is for those who “dwell” - To dwell is not a one time thing, it is a place where you live. - It’s the place you return every day. - It’s your “safe place” - So when you think of the house of the Lord, don’t think of a building, think of person of Jesus Christ and Him dwelling in you. - He dwells in you by His Holy Spirit. - So if His presence is our home, then don’t we want our hearts to be His home? - Don’t you want your heart to be the place where He enjoys being? - It’s a mutual relationship where you enjoy being with Him and He enjoys being with you! - That’s what Jesus wants! - He wants you to love being with Him and in His presence! - When you do that, you will discover that you are blessed and greatly favored! - Then it says that you will be singing His praises all day long! - It doesn’t mean to just sing a song. - It means that your heart will be overflowing with His love and His grace to a degree that you are complete changed. - It’s noticeable. - You are full of His joy and His peace despite your outward circumstances, - You will will discover an inward peace when you get in His presence. - Today, pursue His presence with all of your heart! - Have a great Tuesday!
