DEVO. 09.07.23

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." (2 Corinthians 9:6 NIV)

- How is your giving? - Many times when we think about giving, we think about money but we have been created to also give of our time and talents to invest in other people. - God has placed talents and abilities within you so that you can use them to bless others. - In other words, God has invested in you so that you can invest in others! - When you invest in someone else's life you help them to see something that they ordinarily would not see. - You help to bring out the uniqueness and gifting in them. - This verse says that if you sow generously you will reap generously. - If you sow into other people around you at school, work, your family or neighbors you will be blessed. - Your life will be blessed by making someone else better. - One of the most precious things to us is our time. - When we get a free moment we use it for ourselves ... But today I'm asking you to give it away! - What are some ways you could give your time and talents or abilities to help others? - 2 Corinthians 9:10 (MSG) says, "He (God) gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God. - As you give away your time to help someone else and invest in someone else, God will help you to get more out of the time He has given you. - Maybe its an encouraging word or a note. - Maybe its spending extra time with family. - Maybe its helping out around the house or helping a neighbor without being asked. - Maybe its spending time just listening to someone who needs to talk. - Maybe its giving away a free night of babysitting for someone you know. - This week think..."How can I give?" - 2 Cor. 9:8 says, "God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." - You will have plenty left over. - Sow generously into someone's life this weekend! - Have a great Thursday!
