DEVO. 09.06.23
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 NLT)
- What was the purpose of Jesus’ death on the cross? - Why did He endure such a brutal beating? - And why allow them to drive the nails through His hands and feet? - So that… you could be dead to sin. - That would have been enough if it just said “Dead to sin”. - That means that you are immune from the penalty of sin and the power of sin. - Sin no longer has the ability to control you or be passed down to future generations. - You no longer have to live in regret and shame. - But he doesn’t stop there. He also says that we can live for what is right! - That is living the righteous life that Jesus wants you to live. - Sin is kicked out of your life and the Righteous life of Christ has moved in. - All of His power to live this Righteous life is now attainable through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in you! - Jesus personally carried your sins on His body so that you could have victory over those same sins! - He has done what you and I were unable to do! - So think back to any sin that you have struggled with or carried the guilt and shame of. - Well you are now dead to that sin! - Shame is a thing of the past! - Guilt is gone! - You are set free in Jesus name! - That’s the power of Jesus sacrifice. - Now all you have to do is take Jesus at His word! - Believe in Him and and live in His power! - By His wounds you are healed! - Thank Him and walk in your new found freedom today! - Have a great Wednesday!
