DEVO 09.06.22

“(Love) keeps no record of wrongs.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

- What does your list look like?

- Your list of people who have wronged you, criticized you, or hurt you.

- It may not be at the front of your mind or it may be pushed way to the back.

- Do you know that holding on to an offense actually hurts you more than it hurts them?

- They probably don’t even know that they have offended you or hurt you, but you carry it with you everywhere you go.

- It effects the way that you trust others

- It effects the way that you act and react.

- It effects your work.

- Most importantly it effects the way that you relate to God.

- In Matthew 5:23, it’s says, “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.”

- It’s that important!

- That if you are in the middle of worshiping God and religious activity, that you stop right there and make the wrong thing right and then go back to worship.

- God knows how bad it hurts you and He wants you free from anything that weighs you down or blocks your fellowship with Him.

- He loves you so much that He paid the greatest price for you to have un-broken fellowship with Him.

- Why let something that someone else has done to you, hinder God’s presence in you?

- Mark 11:25 says, “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. ”

- He says, FORGIVE FIRST!

- Forgive first and then you will be forgiven.

- That means that if you want a good prayer life, you’ve got to get rid of your “record of wrongs”

- If you want to be able to hear God and hear from Him then you must destroy the list!

- Today would be a good day to release them and in the process free yourself.

- Open the pathway to the presence of God!

- Have a great Tuesday!
