DEVO. 09.05.24
“One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” (Luke 18:1 NLT)
- Always pray and NEVER GIVE UP!
- That’s what Jesus wants for all of His disciples.
- Let that sink in!
- Prayer is your connection to God.
- “Never giving up” is about your will to believe in His power!
- Jesus gives an example of a widow who goes before a judge in order to get justice.
- In Jesus’ example the unjust judge says, “this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”” (Luke 18:5 NLT)
- This is an unjust Judge and this woman was relentless.
- She would not take no for an answer!
- Her mindset was, “I am going to get what I came for, no matter what it takes or how long it takes.”
- Does that describe your prayer life?
- Maybe you have an addiction or a habit that you’ve had for years or most of your life!
- Maybe it’s a health concern or a bad doctors report!
- Maybe it’s a prodigal child or an unsaved loved one.
- Maybe it’s a broken relationship or an emotional wound.
- It really doesn’t matter what the need is.
- The question is, have you brought it before our Righteous judge?
- Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
- Don’t worry one more second about something before you bring it to God!
- He is the only one who can change the unchangeable!
- Today pray with all of your heart!
- Luke 18:7 says, “Don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night?
- When come before our Righteous Judge, the Lord Almighty, you come before Him by the Blood of the Lamb.
- Because of what Jesus has done, He declares you in “Right Standing” before God.
- You already have a place in His courts because you are cleansed and found “Not Guilty.”
- So, as you plead with Him for justice, it’s because of what the blood is speaking for you and over you.
- Now don’t give up!
- Keep coming and appearing before Him!
- This is a time to wear Him out!
- And remember, Luke 18:27 says, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”
- If you never give up, He will give in!
- Have a great Thursday!
