DEVO 08.14.24

DEVO. 08.14.24

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

- Here is a prayer that I want to pray over you, today!

- It’s the benediction that the apostle Paul gives to the Church of Corinth.

- He throws in the entire Godhead.

- He starts with Jesus, because you can’t experience the love of God or the fellowship of the Holy Spirit without the cross of Jesus Christ.

- Once you have received the grace of Jesus, because of the cross, you can receive the Love of God the father.

- Then once you have received the love of God, you can have the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

- You need the constant fellowship of the Holy Spirit!

- The message paraphrase puts it like this: “The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you.”

- ‭‭The “intimate friendship” of the Holy Spirit!

- So my question for you is this: would you describe yourself as having an intimate friendship with the Holy Spirit?

- Don’t answer that too quickly.

- Think about it, because it really matters.

- Intimate means to be, “marked by very close association, contact.”

- It also means, “belonging to or characterizing one's deepest nature”

- So I underlined two parts: contact and deepest nature.

- Has your deepest nature had contact with the Holy Spirit?

- Contact means that you have been touched.

- So, if I can break it down a little more, I would say, “Has the deepest part of you been touched by the Holy Spirit?”

- Because if you have been touched by the Spirit of God, it means that you have allowed yourself to be vulnerable.

- And once the Holy Spirit touches the most guarded part of your life, you will truly be changed!

- Today, allow yourself to be unguarded in the presence of God and allow His Spirit to cleanse you, heal you, deliver you and restore you!

- This is for everyone who calls Jesus Lord!

- Have a great Wednesday!
