DEVO. 08.10.23

“Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” (John‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- If you only knew!

- Jesus had stopped at Jacobs well for a purpose and His purpose was for a person.

- This person, was no ordinary person, although she felt very ordinary.

- Actually she was an outcast.

- She was a known adulterer.

- She was a Samaritan. Someone, whom Jesus was not supposed to be hanging out with.

- But she was His mission.

- There is no one who is to far for Jesus to reach.

- There is no one who is too trapped in sin.

- This is no one that he avoids.

- And He says, “If you only knew”

- Do you know the one who you read about, today?

- Do you know His love for you and His desire to make you whole?

- While all of His followers would have rejected her, Jesus is chasing after her.

- He wants her to know that she has purpose, just like He wants you to know that you have purpose!

- He wants her to know that all of her sins can be forgiven.

- He wants her to know that she is not rejected but she is accepted.

- He wants her to know that she is not lost but that she has been found!

- She is about to discover the Messiah!

- This encounter is no ordinary encounter, just like your encounter with Jesus is no ordinary encounter!

- He doesn’t want you to just read about Him, He wants you to KNOW HIM!

- This known sinner is about to be a woman who He entrusts His Holy Spirit to live in and dwell in!

- He is about to make All things new in her and He wants to do the same in you.

- It’s not about all that she has done, but it’s about who she is to become!

- He takes Her eyes off her past and places them on His future with Her.

- This Jesus has the same plan for you.

- Instead of letting your life become buried in your past, allow Him to forgive you, cleanse you and lift you up, out of it, and propel you into your future.

- Just as He set Her free, He can set you free!

- All because of one encounter with the One she came to KNOW!

- So, what situation in your past have you allowed to define you?

- Today, come and encounter Jesus!

- Get to know your Deliverer and Healer!

- Grab ahold of Him and allow Him to redefine your present and your future.

- As soon as she discovers who He really is, she becomes a great evangelist who runs into all of the town and testifies of the one, “Who told me everything I ever did!” And she says, “Could he possibly be the Messiah?”” (John‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬)

- The result of her testimony is that, “Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!”” (John‬ ‭4‬:‭39‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- She had a New Found Freedom!

- She had a new man in Her life!

- Today, allow Him to do the same for you!
