DEVO. 08.09.24
“I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.”
(1 Corinthians 2:5 NLT)
- How important is the power of the Holy Spirit?
- The apostle Paul said he didn’t use persuasive or crafty words to influence others, although he could!
- He said “I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.” (2:4)
- So if it’s important to the apostle Paul then it should be important to us.
- Don’t ever let yourself or your own wisdom get in the way of relying on the Holy Spirit.
- Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.
- You want people to come into an intimate relationship with Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, not through human influence or manipulation.
- One method leads to transformation and the other leads to human control.
- If you want people filled with the Holy Spirit then you have to introduce them to the Holy Spirit.
- Winning an argument is not your goal.
- Watching someone’s heart and life changed by the Holy Spirit is!
- We need more of the Holy Spirit in our lives, in our families, in our schools, in our workplaces and in this nation!
- A great prayer to pray is , “Come Holy Spirit!”
- Come Holy Spirit, “Right here, Right now” so that I can encounter you, and then my encounter influences everyone around me.
- This may seem foolish to some but, “This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.” (1:25)
- Today, ask for and rely on the Power of the Holy Spirit!
- Have a great weekend!
