DEVO 08.06.24

MOVED

“And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request…”

‭‭(2 Chronicles‬ ‭33‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

- What moves the heart of God?

- King Manasseh discovered it, and because of that, he was restored by the Lord!

- The rest of the verse says, “So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!”

- Manasseh was an evil king.

- He became king at the age of 12 and reigned 55 years.

- He rebuilt all of the pagan shrines that his father Hezekiah had torn down.

- He even sacrifice his own son in the fire to false gods.

- He practiced sorcery and witchcraft and blasphemed the Lords name even in the Temple of the Lord.

- For most of his life, He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight and aroused the Lord anger.

- But when he was taken as a prisoner by the Assyrians and led to Babylon in chains, scripture says, “But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.”

- ‭‭Humility gets Gods attention!

- Even after all the evil he had done as a leader, God was merciful!

- He turned to God and God turned His heart to him.

- This shows you that you can never write someone off.

- There is no sin that is too great that God cannot forgive and restore.

- There is no distance too far that God’s loving arms cannot reach!

- This is all you need to know, “When he prayed, the Lord listened”

- If you have sinned greatly, then Gods forgiveness is greater!

- If you have run far from him, God can always bring you back!

- He is a forgiving and a restoring God.

- 2 Peter 3:9 says, the Lord is “long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

- Don’t write people off from the Kingdom of God, pray them into the kingdom of God!

- Never give up and never stop praying!

- Have a great Tuesday!
