DEVO. 07.24.24
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.”
(Acts 20:24 NLT)
- What is your life worth?
- How would you finish this sentence?
- My life is worth nothing unless…?
- Unless you do what?
- Unless you make a certain amount of money?
- Unless you marry that girl or guy?
- Unless you accomplish a goal?
- Unless you buy that car?
- Unless you achieve a title?
- How would you finish that sentence?
- The apostle Paul said that His life was worth nothing unless He used it for telling people about the good news of the wonderful grace of God!
- Nothing!
- He knew what God’s assignment was for his life and he was bound to accomplish it!
- It didn’t mean that his life would be comfortable. It was actually the exact opposite!
- He said, “The Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead.” (Verse 23)
- Jail & suffering! And that didn’t deter him one bit!
- He ran head on towards His God given calling despite pain and suffering!
- Imagine if we were all that passionate about reaching our world for Jesus?
- We would talk a lot less about politics and a lot more about Jesus!
- We would be less concerned about our personal comfort and more concerned about our spiritual impact.
- We would care less about being accepted by the world and more about trying to reach the heart of our world!
- Today, ask yourself this question, “what am I living for?”
- If your answer does long up with Jesus’ passion, then change it!
- Use it to finishing the work assigned you by the Lord Jesus!
- I guarantee, you won’t regret it!
- Have a great Wednesday!
