“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.” (Romans 5:3-4 NLT)
- Do you know that the trials that you run into are an opportunity to rejoice?
- Yes, it doesn’t say complain.
- It says rejoice!
- Every problem, trial, struggle and test is an opportunity to rejoice because we know that God is building spiritual endurance in us!
- We need that endurance to strengthen our character.
- Character is who you are when no one is looking.
- Character is everything.
- Bad character reveals itself when you complain and criticize when you don’t see Gods big picture.
- Bad character shows up when you cheat and choose to live immoral.
- Bad character brings shame to the name of Christ.
- But when you choose to rejoice and develop your spiritual endurance, it strengthens your character.
- Good character brings glory to His name despite the difficulties.
- Good character points to Jesus.
- Good character blesses and brings a blessing.
- But more importantly, good character, strengthens our confident hope of salvation
- That’s the big picture and that’s how important it is to look to God’s big picture and not your own.
- That’s how important it is to not complain!
- Ultimately, you’re choosing to live hopeless or hopeful!
- Don’t say, “God, why did you do this?“Instead, say, “God, how can you use this?“
- You may not understand it, but trust me, God is in it!
- Today, choose to rejoice in trials!
