DEVO. 07.05.23
“Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” Genesis 2:7 NLT
- Do you know that the average person takes about 16 breaths per minute. (At rest) - This means we breathe about 960 breaths an hour, 23,040 breaths a day, 8,409,600 a year. - If a person lives to 80 years of age, they will take about 672,768,000 breaths in a lifetime. - God specifically imparted life and breath to the first man. - This separates man from all other forms of life! - Because of this, there is a unique relationship of divine life to human life. - God breathed and man became! - You are not ordinary! - You are extraordinary! - And your extraordinary life is held together by God himself. - Just think, the first thing that a baby must do in order to live, is to take its first breath. - And the last thing that a person does at the end of their life is breath their last breath! - When was the last time that you thanked God for the breath that he gave you? Or, did you just take it for granted? - Do you just expect it? - Today, thank Him for the simplest thing that gets so easily overlooked. - Thank Him for your breath. - Every time you inhale and exhale a miracle is taking place. - You have 23,040 opportunities to thank him, just today, for the air that you breath! - I know that’s a lot, so why not use just one of your 960 opportunities in an hour and thank Him and praise for the breath that you just took. - One out of 960... - One an hour, that’s not to much to ask, is it? - Today, let every breath you take be a constant reminder and an opportunity to “praise Him, because you are fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14) - You are simply Marvelous! - Have a great Wednesday!
